Rene skrev:Default HVA 1600 Series Rifles - Twist
This information came out of a 1967 (or thereabouts) Tradewinds catalog, so they are probably factory figures for very late production of the 1600 series rifles. The twist rates apply to all the different variations, i.e, Lightweight, Crown, Imperial, Husky.
.243 and .270 - 4 lands/grooves - 10"
6.5x55 - 4 lands/grooves - 8"
.308 and .30-06 - 4 lands/grooves - 12"
7mm Mag - 6 lands/grooves - 9"
.358 Norma Mag - 6 lands/grooves 12"
These are the standard calibers, but as we know other calibers did come out of the factory and I haven't had time to research if there were changes in the twist rate through the production life of the 1600 rifl

My late 1950s vintage Husqvarna (4000 export) 1600 type lightweight rifle in 30-06 with a 520mm (20 .75in) barrel.
1 in 9.5 inch twist (1 in 235mm)
It shoots 200 grain bullets just fine. It love the 190 grain boat-tails
