Regarding the ballistic tests, I have some results to post, but keep in mind that I have used 12/67.40 hulls and I have used the third stage, so I had change all the ballistic parameters of my shotshells!!! :mrgreen:

Kind regards! 8)
Nikos,

For what reason you shorten the hulls ? Pressure will raise

I look foward to see some data :)

Hi Peter, here is the today new tests with 13 to 14mm of free hull space qith Z2M wad without pressure!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Look also my ballistic results, with MBx32 powder

MBx32 249/11 - 12/67.40 - 1.70x33gr/N.8 - Aquila 22 - * - 56.00mm
- PMax 751 bar - V2.5 418.9 m/s - V10 292.8 m/s - TC 2611 usec - RT 394 usec - Int 0.577
- PMax 762 bar - V2.5 420.3 m/s - V10 302.5 m/s - TC 2574 usec - RT 338 usec - Int 0.592
- PMax 778 bar - V2.5 420.0 m/s - V10 312.5 m/s - TC 2595 usec - RT 384 usec - Int 0.588
- PMax 792 bar - V2.5 422.1 m/s - V10 306.0 m/s - TC 2520 usec - RT 279 usec - Int 0.590
- PMax 829 bar - V2.5 423.9 m/s - V10 300.9 m/s - TC 2486 usec - RT 304 usec - Int 0.595
Average
- PMax 782 bar - V2.5 421.1 m/s - V10 302.9 m/s - TC 2557 usec - RT 340 usec - Int 0.588

So, if you consider that I have put the CX2000 primer and not the 686/615 primer for that setup, you will probably understand why I lost the residual velocity on V10!!!

Kind regards! 8)

Here we have two new video :mrgreen:

First try on 4 stage shotshell with the normal third stage on 12mm of free hulls space!

First try on 4 stage shotshell with the special third stage crimper on 13~14mm of free hulls space without the fourth stage and without a proper roller for that specific case!

Here is another video for my friend Peter, that doesn't want to close his shotshells with uncompressed wads :mrgreen:

Nikos,

How will this load technic perform in colder temperature from 2-10gr below zero ? and i'm curios how it will work with 36-38gram loads ( if it works )

In Sweden we don't need shoot behind 45meter , often not behind 35m. i'm still fond of that Cortini 4 stage machine, but if i had it i wont have any tools in
the first stage, i don't like have my hand behind the spinning crimp. I think it's more ergonomic having first star crimp at left in the " new modded place "
and then the 3: stage i bought from you. that's way i think your own new designed press is weary clever, with plenty of room for the left hand..

Well Peter, if you have a 60% of concentration with normal lead at 45mt, then you probably have also over 80% of concentration at 35mt...but with only 36gr of lead! The main difference between that two shotshells, is that in the second case, the residual velocity will be much higher, even if you stayon positive temperatures...even if you hunt under zero with snow and ice! 8)

The third stage I send you, performs perfect till 12mm of free hull space and can also performs on the limit of 13mm of free hull space, with the help of the conic stage crimper! If you don't use the conic stage, you will be never able to close perfectly your super fast shotshells with 13mm of free hull space and that is a fact...untill you push your star cimper over the relative mechanical limits!

About the video and the positioning of my hands, keep in mind that I have put the videcamera near the machine and I have had to make some difficult angles and movements...to avoid touching the camera during the video scenes... By the way, you can invert the crimpers as you like, as also Cortini puts the crimper in the left side...but for me is more easy to start from left to the right...

Kind regards! 8)

Nikos,

I have the first stage in same place at my gaep 1500, the Cortini 4-5 stage it's a smart invention with the option of
2-3 station placed left from the last final station. I have no need for crimp with so much free space as 14-15 mm
But i like the look of my crimp after using the third stage cone from you, i like'm flat and tight

Hi. I want to ask a few questions. How good is this type of crimping compare to the one on a MEC reloader? is it just for the looks of the crimp, or do you gain much on patterns and velocity? The reason i ask, is that i'm thinking about making me a station myself, and buy the tools needed, either from you or that other italian company. And i don't have any shotgun with a long barrel, just my Beretta 682 Gold. :D

Hi Kjuliussen, as I mention before in my past posts, the main difference of that technology is on the better residual velocity and on the better concentration of the pattern in a way about 10~20%... If you need something, then the only way is write directly to the Italian manufacturer, by writing on the following email: info@cortiniepezzotti.it" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Mec can't pass the 11~12mm of free hull space, but keep in mind that you will need 2 different tools: Conic Crimp + Third Stage Crimp! Only by combining in the right way the Half Crimp + Conic Crimp + Third Stage Crimp + Roll, you will be able to close perfectly your shotshells with 13 or 14mm of free hull space, to have that kind of better performances and this is a fact...due to my numerous tests and prototypes tries! 8)

By the way, here I post you how the conic crimp works: http://www.idiogomosi.com/pages/posts/k ... si-625.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

kind regards! 8)
