Husqvarna 1900

[Boomer]

Hi guys, looking for info on a Husqvarna 1900 in .308, number 622613. I have paid a deposit on a bit of an odd-ball Husqvarna 1900, odd as it has a 70cm untapered barrel. Just wanting to learn a little of the pedigree before I fully commit.

With that number it’s not a Husqvarna. It’s a Carl gustav. I can’t see on that pictures but it can be a sporter with a standard hunting stock.

Anyway it's an excellent gun. Manufactured in Sweden grants high quality in material and craftmanship, and the action is as good as it's reputation. I love my 1900 in 6,5x55.

"Sporter" in Sweden doesn't mean the same as in American English. In English a "sporter" is just a common hunting rifle. The Husqvarna/FFV/Carl Gustaf "Sporter" should in English be a "range rifle".

But the stock in the pictures is a standard 1900 Monte Carlo stock. Supposedly the the rifle is rebarrelled.

About the barrel its probably rebarreled with a Semimatch barrel also known as "hjortpipa", it can be a Schultz & Larsen barrel it was common to do so know of several 1900s re-barreled in the late 80s . The barrel probably has a recessed crown, if done by Norma think Norma rebarreled and stamped the year on the barrel in front of the reciever. The rifle should be very accurate, would suggest a triggerjob by Lennart Hoppe if he still is in business to get a perfect crisp triggerpull around 2lbs, original is around 3lbs at lowest setting.

Lennart was in the business in December at least. He made a trigger job on my CG1900 308 then.
