I mostly agree with Jägermeister, exept that ALL Sako brass aren´t made by Norma, and that RWS also have a good reputation. I have seen Sako brass that haven´t been so well made, and other sako that have been exeptionally nice. Partly they make their own brass, probably some are made by Norma, but I think there are other manufacturers too.

Anyway - if Lapua is available there´s nothing to think about - if not, then take sako, norma or RWS.

The situation on brass is not easy to get a good grip on :?

Both Lapua and Sako make good cases but also buy cases for some calibers. Lapa for ex. makes (in my opinion) the best.220 Russian, 6 BR, 308 Win, 6,5x55, 300 Win Mag as a few ex. The 222 Rem. cases from Lapua is made elswere and the 223 Rem is made by Lapua. It´s difficult to know exactly what is what and ho´s making cases for other company's. It´s not hard to figure out that Lapa, Norma and Sako doesn´t happily explain about these facts that some cases are made by themselves and other are bought without a headstamp.........

Lapua don´t have the 222 rem on their program anymore, because of the popularity of the 223, so I had to buy som sako-brass last week. I´m really pissed, because last summer I ment to buy 500 lapua- cases, but for some stupid reason I forgot it after the competitionseason was over

börje!

I got the impression that Lapua didn´t make their 222 cases themselves, not lately anyway........ The 222 Lapua cases I have been around was really small in volyme, pretty close to RWS.......

I have not done a lot of reloading in the 222 but my father have a Rem 700 Varmint Sp. so I have done some testing and hunting with that rifle in 222 Rem. I found the Sako and Norma cases best. Bot now Norma also have closed the mfg. of 222 cases :( I think they also use RWS now.

Well, you might be right about that, I have allso noticed the small volume. Anyvay, you don´t find any Lapua cases anymore, unless some store doesn´t have some old ones in stock, sad but true. The reason I decided to buy Sako this time, was that i got a nice price on the factory-ammo with the 50gr FMJ-bullet, and its good enough for training, and after that I get cases from my own chamber. I´m going to change the barrel on my Tikka Sporter before next season, because my old one is not shooting nice enough anymore.
